Arsenal plan to recall midfielder amid playing time concerns
Arsenal are preparing to recall midfielder Miguel Azeez from Portsmouth amid his lack of playing time.
The teenager joined Pompey on loan over the summer as the Gunners believed he could develop under manager Danny Cowley.
However, that has hardly been the case. The 19-year-old has played just 59 minutes of domestic football in the current campaign.
He has been a regular unused substitute for the League One outfit, and football.london claims that his loan deal could be cancelled.
The Gunners are expected to be without Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny in January due to their participation in the African Cup of Nations.
It was previously suggested that Azeez could be recalled to fill the void, but that appears unlikely as he has hardly played this campaign.
It has been recently reported that the Gunners could re-sign Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid on loan for a third-straight season.
Ceballos has not played for Los Blancos this term after an ankle injury at the Olympics. Mikel Arteta is keen on another reunion.
