The agent of Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny has confirmed that the Egyptian is eyeing a new challenge elsewhere.

The 29-year-old was close to signing a new long-term deal earlier this year, but negotiations were shelved during the summer.

The Gunners were open to parting ways with the midfielder at one point, but decided to keep him due to limited midfield options.

With Granit Xhaka currently injured, the Gunners have only four specialist central midfield choices at their disposal until January.

Thomas Partey and Albert Sambi Lokonga are the regulars. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Elneny have provided back-up off the bench.

Elneny's current deal expires at the end of the campaign, and his agent has now confirmed that the midfielder sees his future elsewhere.

Galatasaray were keen on landing Elneny before the Turkish transfer deadline in September, but the Gunners snubbed the proposal.

Elneny's representative has confirmed that Galatasaray are still interested, and also talked up a possible January exit for his client.
