Newcastle United optimistic of Eden Hazard deal?

Newcastle United are seriously interested in signing former Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard, according to Sport.

The Belgian was a huge fan favourite during his seven seasons with the Blues, but he left the club for Real Madrid in 2019.

He has since struggled with numerous injury concerns. The 30-year-old has been restricted to just over 50 appearances.

There are huge question marks over his future ahead of the New Year, and Sport claims that the Magpies want him.

The Tyneside outfit were recently undertaken by a Saudi-led consortium, and there could be significant spending in January.

The onus is on pursuing experienced match winners and Hazard is being seen as a suitable candidate despite his injuries.

Hazard has already been offered to Chelsea, but the west London giants are unlikely to look at the prospect of re-signing him.

He may ruin his legacy with the club by joining the Magpies. The Tyneside outfit would obviously be prepared to meet his hefty wages.
