Mikel Arteta says Arsenal duo are doubtful ahead of Liverpool clash
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Thomas Partey will be assessed ahead of the Premier League clash at Liverpool.
Aubameyang returned early from international duty this week, and it was initially suggested that the Gunners had pre-planned his comeback.
However, speaking in today's press conference, Arteta said that the striker was carrying an injury that kept him out of Gabon's game against Egypt.
The Spaniard added that the club captain will be assessed ahead of tomorrow's clash. He also revealed that Partey will undergo a late fitness test.
Partey was ruled out for the Watford encounter before the international break with a thigh issue. He has since returned to first-team training.
It remains to be seen whether the duo are deemed fit to make the starting line-up. The Gunners travel to Anfield to face Jurgen Klopp's side.
They have not won a league game at the stadium since September 2012. The club have picked up just two points from the last eight visits.
