Lingard wants to leave Man Utd in January

Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard is keen on leaving the club despite the dismissal of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The England international had an excellent loan season with West Ham United earlier this year, bagging nine goals and five assists.

He was touted to sign for the Hammers on a permanent deal over the summer, but Solskjaer blocked his potential departure.

Lingard was also willing to fight for his future, but he has since struggled for regular playing time with the Red Devils.

He has managed just 60 minutes of Premier League action while registering only 19 minutes in the Champions League.

Despite Solskjaer's exit, he was unused against Villarreal yesterday, and he is now prepared to push for a mid-season exit.

Lingard's contract expires at the end of the campaign, and United could be tempted to sell rather than lose him for nothing.

However, they are still reluctant to sell him to the Hammers, who are regarded as potential top-four contenders this term.
