Manchester United want Serbian star to replace Paul Pogba?
Manchester United have earmarked Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as an ideal replacement for Paul Pogba.
Pogba will enter the final six months of his contract in January, and United have yet to convince him to extend his stay.
Rather than selling him, they are expected to run down the remainder of his contract before pursuing a suitable replacement.
According to Fichajes, the Red Devils have their sights on Milinkovic-Savic as they brace for Pogba's departure next summer.
Milinkovic-Savic is one of Serie A's best box-to-box midfielders. He has bagged three goals and four assists this term.
The Serbian has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal, but he has no plans of penning a renewal beyond that period.
Lazio are likely to cash in on his services next summer, and it is reported that they could demand a fee of around £59 million.
Liverpool are also long-term admirers of him. They are expected to prioritise the signing of an elite central midfielder next summer.
