Manchester United confirm appointment of interim manager
Manchester United have confirmed the arrival of Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager for the rest of the campaign.
The Red Devils dismissed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer from the helm earlier this month after they suffered five defeats from seven league games.
Michael Carrick has been on temporary charge for the past two matches, but he will soon be replaced by Rangnick as the caretaker boss.
Rangnick was released from his director role at Lokomotiv Moscow recently, and he will take charge of United after his work permit is issued.
The German has been appointed for the remainder of the season, and he will then take up a consultancy role for a couple of years.
It is unclear whether he will be in the dugout for the Arsenal clash on Thursday night. Carrick appears in line to continue as manager.
The 40-year-old helped the Re Devils beat Villarreal in Europe last week before a hard-fought 1-1 league draw against Chelsea on the road.
