Man Utd handed Erling Haaland transfer boost?

Manchester United could receive a potential boost in signing Erling Haaland next summer with the appointment of Ralf Rangnick.

The Norwegian has been regularly linked with the Premier League giants, but nothing has materialised beyond the speculation.

According to ESPN, the Red Devils could be handed a boost in the striker's pursuit with Rangnick being brought to the club.

Rangnick will soon take charge as the interim boss. He will then take up a consultancy role at the club for a couple of seasons.

The German has a big reputation for spotting young talents, and he played a key part in Haaland's development at RB Salzburg.

He was influential in convincing Haaland to join the Austrian club in January 2019 when he was a relatively unknown at Molde.

Haaland has since taken the next big step in his career at Borussia Dortmund, but he could soon be heading for the exit door.

The 21-year-old has a £68m release clause on his contract that will become active at the conclusion of the current campaign.
