Arsenal in talks with Swiss midfielder?
Arsenal are reportedly in negotiations with Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria over a summer move.
The 25-year-old has snubbed a new contract at the Bundesliga outfit, and he will leave for free when his contract expires next summer.
The Gunners are among the admirers and Fussball Transfers claims that they are already in talks with the player's representatives.
However, the club are set to face competition from numerous clubs, and may need European football to lure the Swiss midfielder.
Zakaria is being seen as a replacement for compatriot Granit Xhaka, who could leave the club at the end of the campaign.
Xhaka was tipped to join Roma last summer, but a deal did not materialise. He ended up signing a one-year renewal until 2024.
The decision was reportedly made to preserve his transfer value. Xhaka remains open to a potential move to Roma next summer.
Jose Mourinho is a huge admirer of the former Arsenal captain. Zakaria was on Roma's radar last summer, but he turned them down.
