Chelsea interested in signing Lucas Digne?
Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Everton defender Lucas Digne during the January transfer window.
The Blues currently have Ben Chilwell on the sidelines with a knee injury, but may not return until mid-January.
Marcos Alonso has struggled at left wing-back in Chilwell's absence while there is no other specialist for the role.
According to The Athletic, the Blues could make a winter bid for Digne, who was recently dropped by Rafa Benitez.
The Frenchman had a fall-out with the manager last week, and he was axed from the matchday squad against Arsenal.
Digne had an disagreement over the club's defensive and counter-attacking approach that hampers his playing style.
The defender likes to play an attacking brand of football, and he is also frustrated after being taken off set-pieces.
There are suggestions that he could be sold in January, and it now appears the Blues could line up a transfer bid.
Digne is contracted until the summer of 2025. The Toffees may want to recoup the entire £20m fee paid to Barcelona.
