Newcastle make transfer decision on Anthony Martial

Anthony Martial news

Newcastle United won't be pursuing the signature of Manchester United star Anthony Martial next month.

The Magpies have been touted to spend big during the January transfer window following their takeover by a Saudi-led consortium earlier this term.

Martial has been heavily linked with the club amid his desire to leave the Red Devils, but Football Insider claims that the Magpies are not interested.

Eddie Howe is currently prioritising midfield and defensive signings for the Tyneside outfit, who are 19th in the standings after 18 matches.

The hierarchy are also not keen on landing Martial, who would cost a loan fee of around 6 million pounds for half a season.

Barcelona have also been linked with Martial, but they are likely to cool down their interest with Ferran Torres set to join them.

Martial could still head for the exit door. United are open to selling him permanently if they receive a bid of 30 million pounds next month.
