Liverpool have no plans of reuniting with midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum during the January transfer window.

The Dutchman joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer following the expiry of his contract with the Merseyside outfit.

He has since endured a tough time in Paris. Wijnaldum has made 22 appearances, but 10 of those have been off the bench.

The 31-year-old is ready to leave Les Parisiens on a temporary deal in January, but The Athletic claims that the Reds won't re-sign him.

The Reds did not pursue a replacement over the summer, but it is claimed that a reunion is highly unlikely in the upcoming month.

While he would seamlessly fit back into Jurgen Klopp's plans, the midfielder may not have the assurance of a regular starting role.

Liverpool are not expected to sign any players in January. Klopp is prepared to trust the current squad for the rest of the campaign.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Naby Keita will be a huge miss for them next month due to their African Cup of Nations commitments.
