Chelsea to swoop for Ajax left-back?
Chelsea have identified Ajax defender Nicolas Tagliafico as a January target, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues recently confirmed that Ben Chilwell will undergo a knee surgery. He is expected to miss the rest of the season.
This could pave the way for the signing of another left wing-back. Romano claims that Tagliafico is an option for the Blues.
The Argentine was heavily linked with West Ham United last summer, but a deal did not materialise before the deadline.
He could still move to the Premier League next year, and it appears the Blues could make a formal approach to land him.
The 29-year-old will enter the final 18 months of his contract in January. It is claimed that Ajax are open to suitable offers.
They valued him at around £20m last summer, and he could be available for much less when the transfer window reopens.
Aside from Tagliafico, the Blues have also been linked with a potential deal for Lucas Digne, who is out-of-favour at Everton.
