Newcastle to table bid for Aubameyang

Arsenal's out-of-favour striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is wanted by Premier League rivals Newcastle. It is understood that the Toon Army are considering a loan-to-buy deal for the player.

The Gabon international forward, who is set to travel to represent his country for the African Cup of Nations this month, has been told that he is surplus to requirements at the Emirates.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has dropped the player due to a number of disciplinary incidents and the Spaniard informed Aubameyang that his performances on the pitch and in training has been disappointing. Arteta revealed that the player has not stuck to his manager's "non-negotiables" and thus the player is now on the verge of a surprise exit.

There will be no shortage of potential suitors for Aubameyang. The player is also wanted by AC Milan, whilst Real Madrid may also be interested in a short-term deal for the striker.

Newcastle are ready to pay £4 million for Aubameyang on a six month deal, with a view to a permanent transfer in the summer. Arsenal are looking to recoup around £25 million to transfer out the striker.
