Liverpool in advanced talks to sign Renato Sanches?
Liverpool are reportedly ahead of Barcelona and Arsenal in the race to sign Lille midfielder Renato Sanches.
The Portuguese had a poor career at Bayern Munich, but he managed to turn his fortunes around by joining Lille.
With less than 18 months left on his contract, he could now pursue a bigger challenge away from Les Dogues.
Arsenal and Barca have been linked with him, but El Nacional claims that the Reds are now leading the race.
The Merseyside giants are in advanced negotiations with Lille for the midfielder, who has 32 international caps.
The Reds are yet to fill the void left by Georginio Wijnaldum's exit last summer. Sanches would be a quality recruit.
It is unclear whether they can afford him now. The Reds could negotiate a deal to sign him at the end of the season.
Sanches is valued at around £35m. His injury record could be a reason behind the lack of genuine transfer interest.
