The centre-back has his sights on joining Barcelona, but Goal claims that Bayern are not prepared to give up on him.

The Bundesliga giants recently suffered a blow with Niklas Sule turning down a new contract beyond the current season.

Sule has been touted to join Chelsea in the summer, and it remains to be seen whether Christensen moves the other way.

Christensen was previously on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach for two seasons, where he was hugely successful.

Bayern value his experience in the German top-flight, and believe he won't need much time to adapt to their style of play.

The 25-year-old was fancied to extend his Chelsea contract earlier this season before he made a surprise U-turn.
