Barcelona enter talks to sign Chelsea captain
Barcelona are in negotiations with Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta over a free transfer this summer.
The Spaniard has entered his tenth campaign with the Blues, but there is uncertainty over his future.
His current contract expires in five months, and he has given no indication that he could prolong his stay.
The Blues are waiting to hear from him, but journalist Jose Alvarez claims that he could be heading for the exit door.
Azpilicueta has been offered a two-year contract by the Catalan giants with the option for another 12 months.
In comparison, the Blues may only be willing to extend his deal for one campaign with a 12-month option.
Unlike the Blaugrana, they are unlikely to offer him a pay rise. These reasons could urge him to part ways.
Aside from Azpilicueta, teammate Andreas Christensen also fancies a move to the Catalan giants in the summer.
His Blues contract expires at the end of June. He is expected to sign a pre-contract after rejecting a renewal.
