Auba deal back on

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's transfer deadline day move to Barcelona appeared to have been cancelled after the Catalan side informed Arsenal that they would be unwilling to pay the Gabon international striker's £350,000 a week contract. However, it is understood that Barca have made a counter offer that has been accepted by the Gunners.

Arsenal are to allow Aubameyang to leave with Barca paying a reported £270,000 of the player's salary for the next six months.

The striker has been deemed surplus to requirements after multiple disciplinary breaches at the Emirates Stadium, with manager Mikel Arteta instead preferring to play Alexandre Lacazette as his first choice striker.

Aubameyang has a house in Barcelona and his father lives in the Catalan district. It is understood that Auba still hopes to return to London and fight for a first team place, but understands that it is currently impossible for him to force his way back in to Arsenal's first team. The player has 18 months remaining on his Arsenal contract. It is believed that the Gunners will accept a nominal fee in the summer for the striker.
