Lo Celso leaves Tottenham for Villarreal loan move
Argentinian midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has left Tottenham for Spain, joining Villarreal on a season long loan deal. The former Paris St Germain and Real Betis star has decided to leave White Hart Lane in search of regular first team football.
Lo Celso had been informed by Spurs' manager Antonio Conte that he was not required for the remainder of the season and was free to find football elsewhere.
Villarreal manager Unai Emery has snapped up Lo Celso paying just 45 percent of the player's wages.
The midfielder arrived at Tottenham in 2020 and appeared to ready to challenge the likes of Dele Alli, but having gone two years just scoring one goal, the player has decided to look for success elsewhere.
Spurs have today replaced Lo Celso with Rodrigo Bentacur and Dejan Kulusevski, both of whom arrived from Juventus this afternoon in a total package worth around £15 million.
Antonio Conte has also allowed Bryan Gil to leave for Valencia on loan, and also Dele Alli departed today for Everton; whilst yesterday Tanguy Ndombele joined Lyon on a loan deal.
