Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto has said that the club are not worried about Chelsea triggering the buy-back clause for Tammy Abraham.

The Blues sold the England international to the Giallorossi for €40m last summer. They have the option to buy him back for €80m from July 2023.

Abraham has been in excellent scoring form in his debut season with 17 goals thus far, but Pinto is unconcerned over the future buy-back clause.

He said: "There’s a buy back clause into Abraham contract but it’s not gonna be valid this summer - I’m not even worried, we’re happy with Tammy and he’s doing great."

The 24-year-old endured a tough time with the Blues earlier last year where he was a regular substitute under manager Thomas Tuchel.

He made the right decision to move on in the summer, and has excelled for Jose Mourinho's side with 21 goal contributions from 30 games.

Abraham could be instrumental in the club's push for Champions League football next term. They are currently five points adrift of the top four.
