Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani turned a potential move away from the club last month.

The Uruguayan was heavily linked with Barcelona in January, and there were suggestions that he could terminate his contract.

However, nothing of that sort happened. He ended up staying beyond the transfer deadline after talks with Ralf Rangnick.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Cavani had offers to leave last month, but he was committed to staying with the Red Devils.

The 35-year-old remains focused on the club duties at the moment, but won't be signing a new contract beyond the end of June.

The striker dreams about playing in La Liga before calling time on his career. It is unclear whether Barcelona will return for him.

Having failed to lure him last month, they ended up recruiting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a permanent deal from Arsenal.

Their focus is now on landing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. Cavani could still attract interest from other Spanish clubs.
