Arsenal ready to challenge PSG for Brazilian midfielder
Arsenal are ready to compete with Paris Saint-Germain to land Lyon attacker Lucas Paqueta this summer.
The Gunners currently have sufficient attacking options in the squad, but manager Mikel Arteta is eyeing more competition for places.
Paqueta has been linked with the club over the past few weeks. Calciomercato now claims that they are prepared to make a concrete move.
Paris Saint-Germain are lining up an offer for the Brazil international, but the Gunners are not prepared to give up on the player without a fight.
Paqueta has been in fine form for Lyon this term, bagging eight goals and five assists from 30 games. He was on Newcastle United's radar in January.
The Magpies were snubbed by both the club and the player, but he could move on in the summer in the quest for Champions League football.
The Gunners are currently fourth in the standings, and on course to achieve qualification. Paqueta could cost around €45 million this summer.
