Man Utd planning bid for Barcelona defender?

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo ahead of a summer approach, Mundo Deportivo claims.

The Uruguayan has just 16 months remaining on his Blaugrana deal, and he has no plans of penning an extension at the moment.

While he is willing to stay at the club, the hierarchy are reluctant to come close to his wage demands of around €9 million annually.

They are willing to hand a new deal worth €3.4m per year. Araujo is unimpressed, considering better deals for Pedri and Ansu Fati.

This could pave the way for his summer exit. It is claimed that the Red Devils could be on the front-runners to secure his services.

United are prepared to meet his contract demands while agreeing to pay the transfer fee. Barcelona could be eyeing around €35m.

However, the main hindrance could be Champions League football. If they fail to qualify for the competition, Araujo could look elsewhere.

Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have also been credited with an interest.
