Italian club plan fresh attempt to land Arsenal midfielder

Granit Xhaka news

Roma to return for Xhaka?

Roma are planning a fresh move to sign Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka this summer.

The Swiss had reportedly agreed personal terms with the Giallorossi last summer, but they failed to negotiate a suitable fee.

Xhaka ended up extending his Gunners deal until June 2024, but there continues to remain speculation over his future.

The north London giants are eyeing a young defensive midfielder with experience when the transfer window reopens.

Xhaka's game time could be reduced as a result. Forza Roma claims that the Giallorossi will make a fresh transfer offer.

The 29-year-old is a keen admirer of manager Jose Mourinho. It is also known that the Portuguese likes his profile.

Hence, the Serie A outfit may make another approach and they could succeed this time around in prising him away.

Aside from Xhaka, Egyptian ace Mohamed Elneny could leave the Gunners when his contract expires at the end of June.

There is a high possibility that the Gunners could pursue two new midfielders during the summer transfer window.
