Barcelona to sign Liverpool star Mohamed Salah?

Barcelona have emerged as surprise contenders to land Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah amid his contract stand-off.

The Egyptian has had another stellar season for the Merseyside giants, bagging another 20 goals in the Premier League.

Despite his fine form, there has been no progress over a renewal. The hierarchy are yet to meet the forward's demands.

The club are willing to offer him around £260,000-a-week to extend, but Salah is eyeing at least £400,000-a-week to renew.

The board are reluctant to break their wage structure for him, and this could pave the way for his summer departure.

Salah's current deal expires in 15 months' time. It is claimed that Barcelona are evaluating the option of signing him.

The Catalan giants are interested in pursuing at least one marquee forward, and consider Salah as a realistic choice.

He could be a potential replacement for Ousmane Dembele, who appears set to leave for free when his deal expires in June.
