Arsenal are prepared to part ways with midfielder Granit Xhaka this summer if they receive a fee of around €18 million.

The Switzerland international was heavily linked with Roma last summer, but the Giallorossi were unable to meet the asking price.

They were only willing to pay around €13m. The Gunners deemed the offer as derisory and did not entertain any negotiations thereon.

Granit Xhaka ended up signing a new deal until June 2024 with an option for 12 months, but he could still leave the club in future.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Giallorossi plan to try again for Xhaka this summer, but they will need to meet the €18m valuation.

Jose Mourinho has a good relationship with Xhaka off the playing field, but it is still unclear whether the Roma hierarchy will back him.

Xhaka will be 30 by the end of September. Roma are likely to be reluctant to spend most of their summer transfer budget on his services.
