Carlo Ancelotti keen on landing Chelsea defender
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has urged the hierarchy to finalise a contract for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.
Rudiger is likely to leave the Blues when his contract expires in June. He is already attracting interest from several European clubs.
It was previously reported that Madrid were put off by his salary demands, but Marca claims that they have now revived their interest.
Rudiger's representatives have recently lowered the wage requirements, and this could pave the way for the German's move to Madrid.
Ancelotti has been a long-term admirer of Rudiger, and he has personally recommended Madrid to seal a contract for the centre-back.
Rudiger is aware of the widespread transfer interest, but he is likely to delay his final decision until the summer out of respect for the Blues.
Chelsea are currently in the process of a takeover. It could be formally finalised before the end of the ongoing campaign.
Until then, they can't negotiate new deals or transfers, given the sanctions from the UK government on Roman Abramovich.
