Barcelona looking to sign Chelsea striker?

Barcelona are looking at the prospect of landing Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku this summer, Marca claims.

The Catalan giants are aiming to add more physicality to their frontline for next season, and Lukaku has now emerged as an option.

The Belgian was signed by the Blues from Inter Milan in a club-record deal last summer, but he has been far from impressive.

Having netted just 12 goals all season, it has been reported that he could leave the Blues for the second time in his playing career.

The Blaugrana are keen on pursuing his services, but they are only expected to propose a loan deal while agreeing to pay his wages.

Xavi Hernandez's side still have spending restrictions from La Liga due to their excessive wage bill that needs to be lowered.

They are planning to do so by offloading the likes of Philippe Coutinho, Francisco Trincao and Miralem Pjanic this summer.

The club are also in negotiations with investment group CVC Capital over funds to aid their business in the next transfer window.
