Arsenal set to receive £13m from midfielders exit

Torreira set for Fiorentina move

Arsenal are set to receive a £13m fee from Fiorentina for the permanent transfer of Lucas Torreira this summer.

The Uruguayan was deemed surplus to requirements by Mikel Arteta last summer and was subsequently loaned out to the Serie A outfit.

He has since established himself as a key player with 33 appearances. La Viola are now happy to keep him for the long-term.

They agreed a buy-clause worth £13m as part of the loan deal. They are now expected to sign him, having agreed personal terms.

The Gunners will receive a financial boost from his exit. The funds recouped could be utilised for the summer spending spree.

Arsenal are set to purchase at least one striker this summer. The club are also eyeing a new central midfielder and left-back.

Aside from Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi and Kostas Mavropanos are expected to leave on permanent deals this summer.

The duo are on loan at Marseille and Stuttgart respectively. Both have obligatory buy clauses that have been triggered.
