Chelsea interested in signing 35-goal Bundesliga star

Chelsea have their sights on landing RB Leipzig playmaker Christopher Nkunku this summer, Goal reports.

The Blues are expected to bolster their attack in the upcoming transfer window with manager Thomas Tuchel concerned over the limited goal threat.

Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku have largely underperformed and there is the possibility that the duo could part ways with the Blues this summer.

Amidst this, Goal report that the west London giants are weighing up an approach for Nkunku, who netted a stunning 35 goals for Leipzig.

The Frenchman also amassed 20 assists from his 51 appearances, and there will no doubt be interest from several other elite European teams.

Leipzig are firm in their intention to keep the attacker for next season, but they could be tempted to sell if they receive a significant transfer offer.

The Blues are aiming to take advantage of any contract stand-off. Nkunku has yet to commit to a new contract beyond the summer of 2024.
