Giacomo Raspadori linked with Arsenal move
Italy international Giacomo Raspadori is amongst the names linked with a move to Arsenal this summer. The Euro 2020 winning forward is ready to depart Sassuolo after spending 13 years with the club, and it is understood that the 22-year-old favours a move to the Premier League over Serie A, where both Juventus and AC Milan are interested in signing the striker.
Arsenal are short of strikers since the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and uncertainty over the future of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah. The duo both find themselves out of contract this summer. It is expected that Nketiah will pen a new deal at the Emirates, but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta hopes to bring in another striker to compete with the England under-21 star for a place in the first team.
Raspadori has 3 goals in 9 games for the Italy national team and scored 10 goals in 36 appearances last season for Sassuolo. AC Milan are said to be looking for a new striker after Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced he had undergone surgery and would be out of action for close to 8 months. Meanwhile, Juventus are also desperate to add the Italian youngster to their squad.
However, Arsenal are in pole position to secure a move for Raspadori, having already indicated they are ready to match the 40 million euro transfer fee release clause in the forward's contract.
