Man Utd readying bid for French sensation
Manchester United are prepared to make a formal bid to sign RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku next week, Sky Sport Germany claims.
The 24-year-old had a stupendous 2021/22 season with Leipzig, bagging 35 goals and 20 assists from just 51 appearances in all competitions.
His performances have caught the eye of several elite European clubs, and United have entered the race after Ralf Rangnick's recommendation.
According to Sky Sport Germany, there has been 'good contact' between the United hierarchy and the representatives of the playmaker.
The Red Devils are now planning an official bid for the Frenchman, but Leipzig remain firm that he won't be sold this summer.
Nkunku's current deal expires in the summer of 2024, and talks are underway with the Bundesliga outfit over a renewal.
Leipzig are willing to include a buy-out clause which becomes active next summer to persuade Nkunku to pen a new deal.
Chelsea have also been linked with the former Paris Saint-Germain graduate, but face the same situation as the Red Devils.
