Man Utd ready to meet £36m price tag for defender
Manchester United are unfazed by Ajax's asking price for defender Jurrien Timber, The Mirror reports.
The Red Devils are expected to sign a new central defender this summer, and Timber has been identified as the prime target.
The club have already entered talks with Ajax for the 20-year-old, and they seem to be unfazed by the £36 million price tag.
Erik ten Hag has urged the hierarchy to land the Dutchman, and it could be a matter of time before a formal proposal is made.
Meanwhile, Timber's arrival could coincide with multiple exits. Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe are expected to be sold by United.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has also been tipped to head for the exit door, but surprise reports claim that Phil Jones could stay put.
Jones had a couple of good performances after his injury comeback this year, and United are not against the idea of keeping him.
Aside from a central defender, United have been tipped to sign a new defensive midfielder, striker and a right-back.
