Fulham enter talks to sign Arsenal goalkeeper

Bernd Leno news

Leno on his way to Fulham?

Fulham have entered talks with Arsenal to sign German goalkeeper Bernd Leno, The Athletic reports.

The 30-year-old became the second-choice goalkeeper for the Gunners last season following the arrival of Aaron Ramsdale.

He was linked with a mid-season move away from the club, but the hierarchy made it clear that he would have to wait until the summer.

They are now prepared to sanction his sale, and The Athletic claims that the Cottagers are leading the pursuit of his services.

The west London club have been heavily linked with a free transfer for Lazio's Thomas Strakosha, but he is not entirely convinced.

This could be a reason behind the pursuit of Leno, who is desperate for regular game time to keep himself in World Cup contention.

Leno could be available for a bargain fee of around £8 million. Arsenal already have a replacement in place in the form of Matt Turner.

The USA international was signed from New England Revolution in January, and a formal announcement is expected to be made soon.
