Chelsea interested in re-signing Nathan Ake
Chelsea are keen on re-signing Nathan Ake from Manchester City. Thomas Tuchel is a big fan of the player and is interested in bringing the Dutch international to Stamford Bridge.
With Chelsea in need of a central defender, they have had an interest in many defenders in different leagues. As of today, there has not been a single deal sealed from the London Club, as reports emerge of their interest in Nathan Ake.
Nathan Ake was a Chelsea player in the period from 2012 to 2017, recording only 7 games. In those 5 years, he was on loan at Reading, Watford and Bournemouth. He signed with the Cherries in 2017, and after 3 years, in 2020 he joined Manchester City. Nathan Ake hasn't been a regular starter in Pep Guardiola's side as he had to compete with Stones, Laporte and Dias, who have shown consistent form.
Newcastle showed interest in Nathan Ake at the start of June, with Eddie Howe, who coached the Dutch international in Bournemouth, looking to reunite with his former player. Since then, the conversations between Newcastle and Manchester City has not seen much progress as the Manchester club set the price of £50 million for their player.
