Chelsea make Ousmane Dembele transfer decision

Ousmane Dembele news

Chelsea don't want Dembele

Chelsea have cooled their interest in signing Ousmane Dembele on a free transfer this summer, according to Sport.

The Frenchman's current contract with Barcelona expires on June 30, and he appears set to walk away from the club.

The Blues were deemed favourites to sign him last week, but they have been left stunned by his extravagant demands.

Dembele is reportedly eyeing a large signing-on fee on top of a significant wage package to join the west Londoners.

This has ended the Blues' long pursuit of Dembele. His demands are deemed unjustifiable, considering his injury record.

It remains to be seen which club pursues Dembele this summer. Paris Saint-Germain have also ended their long-term interest.

Leonardo was leading the pursuit of him, but the sporting director was recently sacked with Luis Campos taking charge.

Meanwhile, Chelsea may still recruit a new winger this summer. They are determined to sign Manchester City's Raheem Sterling.

Their opening £21m offer was rejected, and a new bid is expected.
