Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is set to join Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan.

The England international was initially touted to join the newly-promoted outfit on loan with an option to buy.

However, the proposal was not acceptable for the Red Devils, and it has been revised to a straight loan deal.

A verbal agreement is in place between the clubs, and the deal will go through once Henderson returns from his vacation.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils are expected to sign a replacement for him, though he is only leaving on a temporary basis.

They are wary of having Tom Heaton as the deputy to David de Gea, given he has barely played over the past two years.

Watford's Daniel Bachmann has been identified as the top player to replace him, but the Hornets prefer a permanent deal.

It will cost United at least £4 million to sign the Austria international, who was on manager Erik Ten Hag's radar at Ajax.
