Pavard on Chelsea radar

Chelsea have joined Atletico Madrid and Juventus in the race to sign Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard this summer.

The Blues are determined to bolster their central defence during the transfer window after the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

Juventus' Matthijs de Ligt has been heavily linked with a move, but the Blues may also be looking for another versatile option for the squad.

Pavard can comfortably play in central defence or in the right wing-back role, and Sky Germany claims that the Blues have entered the pursuit.

The World Cup winner has two years left on his contract, but Bayern are open to sanctioning his sale for around £40 million this summer.

Thomas Tuchel's side could be tempted to land his services, but this may potentially hamper their bid to sign De Ligt from the Bianconeri.

Bayern are also interested in the Dutch star. Chelsea signing Pavard could provide them with added funds to sign the former Ajax youngster.
