Chelsea willing to pay €80m plus for Juventus star

De Ligt likely to reject Chelsea move

Chelsea are willing to pay €80 million plus add-ons to sign Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt this summer.

The Blues are keen on bolstering their central defence following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

De Ligt is one of the top names on their radar, and Gazzetta dello Sport claims that they are willing to pay over €80m for him.

However, the Blues could still miss out on the Dutchman's signature, given he has the preference to join Bayern Munich.

Bayern are only willing to offer €75m up front for the centre-back, but the 22-year-old remains adamant on signing for them.

De Ligt has already held talks with manager Julian Nagelsmann, and it is claimed that he has given the green light for a transfer.

Aside from De Ligt, Chelsea are looking at his compatriot Nathan Ake, who could be signed from Manchester City for €60m.

The Blues are optimistic of landing Ake in the coming weeks, but are still eyeing another marquee central defender this month.
