Man Utd star linked with shock Atletico Madrid move
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a shock move to Atletico Madrid this summer.
The 37-year-old is currently not part of United's pre-season tour of Australia, and there are suggestions that he wants to move on.
His desire to play Champions League football has been highlighted as a main reason, and AS claim that Atletico are interested.
Diego Simeone is said to be intrigued by the prospect of working with Ronaldo, who could have a similar impact as Luis Suarez.
Meanwhile, it is claimed that Ronaldo also wants to play under Simeone as the Argentine shares a similar dedication in football as him.
As things stand, Atletico are not planning any approach. Any move for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner depends on player sales.
Atletico need to recoup at least €40 million first, and it is reported that the likes of Alvaro Morata and Angel Correa could leave.
If things go as per plan, the Spanish giants could make a genuine attempt to land Ronaldo, who reportedly wants to leave United.
