Chelsea forward Timo Werner is reportedly close to making his comeback with RB Leipzig on an initial loan deal.

The German has been with the Blues for the past two seasons, but he has yet to find consistency with his performances.

He has been prone to missing several clear-cut chances, and is no longer a guaranteed starter under Thomas Tuchel.

Hence, he is prepared to move on, and Bild claim that negotiations are underway between Leipzig and Chelsea.

Leipzig are keen on reuniting with their former striker. They are set to propose a high loan fee with a high buy clause.

Werner has been regularly involved throughout pre-season, but he is said to be eager to leave the Blues ahead of the World Cup.

He has an assured place with Germany at the moment, but wants regular game time such that he can play a big role in Qatar.

Aside from Werner, Hakim Ziyech could leave the Blues in the near future.
