Lingard praises Nottingham Forest owners
29-year-old midfielder Jesse Lingard has praised Nottingham Forest's owners for their efforts in their pursuit of his services. The former Man Utd man has admitted that he had offers from abroad but chose to join Forest after he "fell in love" with the club's directors.
"I could have gone abroad for a lot of money but I want to stay in the Premier League," said Lingard.
"They wanted to come to my house and bring me to London in quick succession to try to get the deal done."
It is understood that Lingard could have also gone back to his former club West Ham, but decided against that. Forest have offered the midfielder a one year deal, which means that he can depart once more at the end of the season if he wishes.
Lingard continued: "When I see that sort of love, of course I am going to say yes, but it had to be the right deal for me and my family.
"I can see the project they're building and it's going to look good this season. I feel a positive vibe around the camp."
