Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign former Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata this summer.

The Spain international played two seasons with the Blues, but was far from impressive with just 24 goals from 72 outings.

Morata, who is now with Atletico Madrid, has been offered to the Red Devils as they seek to pursue a quality back-up striker.

Bologna's Marko Arnautovic was initially the top target for United, but they ended their interest due to a couple of reasons.

The club were unwilling to meet the €15m price tag for the 33-year-old while many fans were also unpleased with the pursuit.

According to ESPN, Atletico have now offered Morata's services to United, and it remains to be seen whether they sign him.

Morata was a top target for United five years ago, but they ended up signing Romelu Lukaku as the Spaniard joined Chelsea.

He is now being linked with a possible comeback to English football, but United won't get him for cheap. He is valued at €30m.
