Arsenal confirm defender's move to Serie A club
Arsenal have officially confirmed the departure of Pablo Mari on loan to AC Monza.
The Spaniard struggled for regular minutes during the first half of last season, and he was loaned out to Udinese at the turn of the year.
Earlier this month, the Gunners had offers from AC Monza and Hellas Verona for Mari with the latter proposing a permanent transfer.
They have now accepted the offer from the former. AC Monza will have an obligation to buy Mari for €7m if they stay up in Serie A.
Monza were recently promoted to the Italian top-flight for the first time, and there is a good possibility that they will avoid the drop.
They have signed a stunning 19 players this summer with a number of proven Serie A stars. Mari should also be a solid signing.
Mari was superb for Udinese last season as they stayed clear of relegation. AC Monza and Arsenal will be hoping for more of the same.
