Remo Freuler to join Nottingham Forest
Swiss international Remo Freuler will leave Italian club Atalanta and move to the Premier League, as the midfielder looks set to complete a £12 million transfer to newly promoted Nottingham Forest. The 30-year-old will sign a three year contract at the City Ground outfit.
An agreement has finally been reached between Forest and Atalanta, with the Serie A side said to be ready to let the player leave right away.
Freuler is reportedly desperate to move to England and asked Atalanta for a transfer the minute he knew that a bid had been received.
Freuler made his first appearance for Switzerland's national team in 2017 and has since gone on to play 46 times and score four goals.
The Swiss is comfortable playing in defensive or attacking midfield, and is a box-to-box midfielder preferring to play in central midfield. Last season AC Milan were rumoured to be considering a move for the player, but a deal failed to materialise before the transfer window slammed shut.
Forest have already spent £85 million this summer on new players, and their shopping may well continue as it is understood the club have tabled a bid for Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis this week.
