Chelsea need to pay record fee for Portuguese star
Chelsea will need to pay a club-record fee to sign AC Milan attacker Rafael Leao this summer, according to Calciomercato.
The Blues have already spent £180m on new signings, and their summer spree will extend with the £75m purchase of Wesley Fofana.
They are still on the look out for another attacking player, and Calciomercato cite that Leao is one of the top names on their radar.
The 23-year-old had a top campaign for the Rossoneri last season with 26 goal contributions, but there remain doubts over his future.
He currently has a release clause worth £128m on his contract, and it is claimed that it would take £101m to convince Milan to sell him.
Leao has less than two years left on his Milan contract. The Portuguese has yet to accept terms over a new long-term deal with the club.
Chelsea are no strangers to spending big, but it would be a huge statement if they pay the asking price for Leao before Thursday's deadline.
