Crystal Palace have not given up on signing Chelsea star

Crystal Palace have not given up on re-signing Conor Gallagher on a permanent basis from Chelsea, according to The Sun.

The England international spent the 2021/22 campaign on loan with the Eagles, bagging eight goals and five assists from 39 outings.

He was touted to rejoin the south London outfit this summer, but the Blues reportedly rejected their £27 million bid on deadline day.

It is now reported that the Eagles will make a fresh move in January, and believe they can sign him for less after the Blues landed Denis Zakaria.

Zakaria was pursued from Juventus on loan with an option to buy, and the Eagles feel his arrival could drop Gallagher down the pecking order.

Patrick Vieira's side will reportedly made an ambitious £20m bid for the 22-year-old, who has not impressed Thomas Tuchel of late.

He picked up a red card after 28 minutes on his full league debut for Chelsea against Leeds and he was also under-par versus West Ham.
