Thiago Silva and N'Golo Kante left out of Dinamo Zagreb game
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Thiago Silva and N'Golo Kante have not travelled with the squad to Croatia.
The Blues are scheduled to face Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League opener tomorrow, but they will be missing two key players.
Kante has been nursing a hamstring injury for multiple weeks, and there are no surprises that he has been left out of the travelling squad.
Meanwhile, Silva is a surprise absentee for the Croatia trip, but Tuchel has clarified that the Brazilian is only being rested to avoid fatigue.
Silva has been one of the Blues' best performers over the past two years. He will be 38 this month, but has shown no signs of slowing down.
Despite this, Tuchel is aware that he needs to reduce the workload on the centre-back, who has suffered minor niggles in recent times.
The former Paris Saint-Germain star could possibly play in the home Champions League games while being rested for the away trips.
