Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is reportedly preparing to recall Cristiano Ronaldo to his starting line-up to face Real Sociedad.

Marcus Rashford has excelled as the centre-forward in the last four Premier League matches. Ronaldo has had to settle for a bench role.

However, the England international is likely to be rested on Thursday night and reports claim that Ronaldo will lead the attack.

The 37-year-old was the stand-out performer last term with 24 goals in all competitions, but he has yet to open his tally in the current campaign.

His only start of the current season came in the 4-0 thumping loss at Brentford, and he will be keen to make a mark against Sociedad tomorrow.

Ronaldo has a fantastic record against the La Liga outfit from his Real Madrid days. He has netted 15 goals from just nine outings.

He should relish the challenge of facing them again. United will go into the game as overwhelming favourites after four straight league wins.
