Chelsea handed Rafael Leao transfer boost?
Chelsea have been handed a boost in signing AC Milan forward Rafael Leao, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The west London giants were eager to sign the Portugal international this summer, but they were put off by the price tag.
The Blues offered £69 million for the 23-year-old, but Milan were unwilling to sell him for less than his £127m buy-out clause.
Chelsea are still monitoring his situation, and Corriere dello Sport claim that they could return for him at the end of the season.
Leao has entered the final two years of his Milan contract. He is said to demand £6m per year net, but Milan are refusing to meet his requirements.
This could pave the way for his departure next summer. The Blues are prepared to pounce if such a situation arises.
Leao bagged 14 goals and 12 assists from 42 games for Milan last term. He has continued the good form this campaign.
He has amassed three goals and four assists from seven appearances
